The weather was amazing. It was around 20 degrees and sunny all weekend and we spent most of our time outside. We took the cats out in the yard and they had a blast (indoor cats are so funny in the great outdoors). We even did some yard work (so Mom, you’ll be pleased to know my garden isn’t quite the disaster it was last year but I still could really use your help with it).
We BBQed – a lot. Our Easter dinner was grilled Langoustines in garlic butter and filet mignon marinated in Guinness with salad. Yesterday we had grilled chicken and veggies.
In the evenings we got caught up on some movies and did a bit of YouTube surfing. That’s where today’s post comes in. We started watching videos from some of our favourite artists and I’d like to share a few with you.
The one that started it all was Pink’s Dear Mr. President. Although there is no official video for this song yet, there is a super live version. Check it out.
In the album version of Dear Mr. President, Pink sings with The Indigo Girls. I’ve loved IG since high school and I’ve seen then twice in concert. Their lyrics and harmonies are unparalleled. Did you know that Andrew and I have a song? Well, we do and it’s an old IG song.
Finally I’d like to post a new favourite – The Gotan Project. Andrew and I have tickets to see them here in Brussels when we get back from Canada. This is the song that first got me hooked and I have to thank Shannon for putting it on one of the many awesome mixed CDs she’s made for me.
I’m posting this especially for Jenn. I think you’ll love the video.
