Anyone See September?

Um… can someone help me out? I seem to have lost a month somewhere… answers to the name of September. Anyone?

So I have one week left to batten down the hatches before the Canadian contingent arrives. (i.e., clean like a crazy person so my Mother isn’t totally horrified and vacuuming before she goes to bed at night).

Seriously though, things are more or less under control. I just have some last minute cleaning to do. Tomorrow we’re going to sort out the sleeping situation by purchasing another mattress. All of our tickets, hotels and tours are booked for our road-trip adventure and I’ll make a trip to the market on Sunday to stock the fridge.

The weather has been fabulous the past few weeks, despite a bit of an autumn chill in the air, so I’m pretty sure the downpour will start on Wednesday afternoon next week - about an hour before the plane lands. Andrew and I have been trying our best to enjoy the weather while we have it on our side, by walking around the city and discovering our corner of Brussels.

This is my parents’ second visit to Europe, and they will be the first visitors to our new flat. I’m excited to show them some of the things we’ve discovered since their last visit. We have more of a routine now, more favourites, and we feel more comfortable with life in Brussels and Europe in general.

I’m excited to share La Benjamine and Barcelona with them. I’m also very excited to discover Malta with them and explore the middle of Spain. I’m desperately hoping for sun and a bit of warm weather since we missed summer altogether.

CheeseWeb will probably be pretty quiet from here on out. I’ll try to update when I can, but this week I’ll be busy bringing my photo sites up to speed since I’ll be missing work for a month. The desktop wallpapers will still be here and I’ll try to post a few pictures when I can. So I hope you bare with me for the next month, check out the photoblog which will still have a new image everyday and I’ll see you in November!
