Mail Call
Oh Happy Day! I finally got my package from my Mom. It was post marked July 12th. Yikes. There is nothing better than getting something in the mail that is actually for you... not for the 'current resident,' or for whoever pays the bills. I love getting cards and letters and a package is best of all. In the age of e-mail we have forgotten the joy of opening that little gift from the mailbox. I'm not knocking e-mail. I don't think I could survive being so far from my loved ones without it. But the mail box outside my door has the potential to make my whole day a very happy one. Thanks Mom!

Gosh, you are so right about that! Sometimes it's those little packages that get you through the day - and they are too far and few in between!
we'll send you something from our road trip to portland! :) i'm sure jenn knows where to find you.
There is just something different about getting a Letter rather then an E-mail.

I came upon your blog accidentally while looking for Belgian foods from my childhood. I have such longing pangs for Belgium after reading some of your entries. I spent 8 years of my childhood there in the 70's and I long for fritts (spelling) and mayo to this day. You are so blessed that you get to live there. I hope that i can bring my kids over and take them on a historical tour of my childhood haunts. Antwerp International school, Het Park icecream shop in Brasschaat, shopping in Amsterdam, waffles of course. Is the cuckoo chicken place still there, downtown Antwerp. That is the best chicken on this planet, if you haven't been yet go!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for giving me a taste of Belgium.
